Today a Reader, Tomorrow a Leader Margaret Fuller

welcome

I am excited to be one of the ESL Teachers at Gomez.  I work with second, third and fourth grade students.  If you would like to contact me please e-mail.  joanne.kawecki@ops.org

I have been a second grade classroom teacher for over twelve years. Currently, I am The ESL Resource Teacher for 2nd, 3rd and 4th grade.  I enjoy teaching at Gomez-Heritage and I really  love spending my day with my students.  I love teaching reading.   I feel very strongly about issues that affect our world, and I like teaching all of the  students ways they can make our Earth a better place for everyone.
When I am not at school my husband and I like playing with our very lazy cat Emmet and our active kitten Gertrude. They are just starting to become friends and like to play together.  Gertrude really enjoys pouncing on Emmet's tail.

Here are several easy things you can do to save the environment.

Recycle paper, cans, plastic and glass.

Shut off the water when you are brushing your teeth.

 Take shorter showers.

Unplug your appliances when you are not using them.

Turn off the lights when you leave the room.

Rules (created by my students)

1.  Pay attention to all teachers and follow directions.

2.  Raise your hand to speak.

3.  Be quiet in the hallways.

4.  Be quiet while other people are talking.

5.  Do not play games, jump, push or fight in classrooms, cafeteria or hallways.

6.  Do not scream or stomp.

7.  Do not cut in line.

8.  Be responsible with all supplies.
